Notes from the Audio Front

July 4, 2007

It’s been a long time coming, but the new iZ Technology website has arrived. Complete with detailed product information, a streamlined Support section, and improved navigation, our new site will help you find all the information you need about iZ Technology and RADAR.

We’ve also added a completely new section to the site – iZ Community. What’s iZ Community all about? For now, it’s the part of the site that focuses on the people who use RADAR as well as the pro-audio applications where RADAR really shines. In this section you can:

  • Read profiles on the recording studios, mobile rigs, and artists who use RADAR
  • Get information about the ways that RADAR integrates with specific pro-audio applications like recording studios, broadcast studios, post production facilities, and playback environments
  • Find out who records on RADAR
  • Use our Studio Locator to find a studio near you that uses RADAR

But we’d also like for the Community section to develop into something unique. Chris Walla, producer / engineer of Death Cab for Cutie, once told me that there’s a symbiotic relationship between creative and technical people - between musicians and developers. The Community section is meant to be an acknowledgement of that symbiosis.

We all share some common ground. We’re all musicians and engineers, including the team here at iZ. We’re also all dedicated to creating great songs, performances, and arrangements and then communicating those moments through quality transcriptions.

We like to think that RADAR plays a significant role in making those great recordings happen. Whether it’s with RADAR’s great sound, its hands-on user interface, or our outstanding technical support, our goal is to help you by taking technology out of your way.

This section is a work in progress – I don’t really know how it’s going to evolve. So I’ll start off with a call for letters and emails. Let me know what you think of the new site, what’s on your mind when it comes to facilitating great performances in your studio, or if you’d like to talk with me about profiling your studio, band, mobile rig, etc in these pages. I’ll post up the comments here and we’ll take it from there.

Hope to hear from you soon.
