iZ RADAR 24 Helps Stars to Shine at Super Bowl |
|
| |
Super Bowl XXXVII was all about the entertainment this year. The incredible lineup of star power provided some of the most entertaining pre-game, halftime and post-game segments to date. Performing artists included: Celine Dion, Carlos Santana, Michelle Branch, Beyonce Knowles, Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, No Doubt, Sting and Bon Jovi.
Joel Gallen, Jimmy Iovine and Bob Best produced the entertainment portions of the show. ATK Audio Tek provided sound in the stadium; Westwood One Mobile Recording provided mobile audio services and support. Mixers for the musical portions of the show were ATK's veteran Senior Engineer Andrew Waterman and freelancer Jay Vicari who also mixes music for NBC's Saturday Night Live.
Also on the audio team was Westwood One's mobile engineer Biff Dawes. "Every act has different requirements ranging from a click track to supplemental instrumentation." relates Biff, "With the extremely tight setup schedule a lot of the audio has to come from the two iZ RADAR 24's in the truck".
Super Bowl XXXVII marks the second year that Westwood One has selected the iZ RADAR 24 as the system of choice for providing supporting tracks for the entertainers. "Shows like the Super Bowl are extremely demanding and there is little margin for error,” says Biff, "The iZ RADAR 24s have proven to be very reliable and their lockup time to video is also very fast, making them an ideal choice for this type of mission critical application."
